Smarter, More Efficient Storage Heating
Older storage heaters were designed to charge overnight and release heat slowly throughout the day, but they often lacked precision. Many lost heat too quickly, provided warmth when it wasn’t needed, and left rooms cold by the evening. They used to be bulky, dicult to control, and expensive to run by today’s standards.
Modern storage heaters solve these problems with advanced technology and smarter design. They use improved insulation to retain heat for longer, ensuring warmth is available when you need it. High Heat Retention storage heaters are also up to 30% more ecient than the old models. Built-in digital controls and accurate thermostats allow you to set accurate temperatures, manage heating times, and reduce wasted energy. All our smart storage heaters include adaptive learning features that predict daily heating needs based on usage patterns and weather conditions.
Lower Running Costs with Modern Storage Heaters
Upgrading to modern storage heaters can significantly reduce running costs, especially for properties on Economy 7 or similar o-peak electricity taris. By charging more efficiently overnight and releasing heat in a controlled way, modern units make better use of cheaper electricity while maintaining consistent comfort throughout the day. We also oer Solar Storage Heaters for increased energy savings to further future proof your home.
Maximum Heat Retention
High Heat Retention Storage Heaters are required to store 45% of unused heat over 24 hours. Our heaters achieve more than this, and store 51%, meaning they are one of the most effective storage heaters on the market.
There are also clear comfort and aesthetic benefits. Modern storage heaters are slimmer, quieter, and more visually appealing than older models. High Heat Retention storage heaters also include an integral heating element, providing instant top up heat when required without relying solely on stored energy.
Replacing outdated storage heaters is not just an upgrade—it’s an investment in energy eciency, lower bills, and improved day-to-day comfort. For homeowners and landlords alike, modern storage heaters oer a reliable, future-ready heating solution for electrically heated properties.

Better control of stored heat
High heat retention storage heaters are designed to retain stored heat for longer and give you greater control over when heat is released compared with older storage heaters.
High heat retention storage heaters are required to store 45% of unused heat over 24 hours. Elnur states that its heaters store 51%.
HHR plus heaters can work with Economy 7, Economy 10 and some smart or time-of-use tariffs.
Which storage heater do I need?
HHR plus heaters can be controlled by WIFI and can use surplus solar energy with separate control boxes.
Four models are available with heat outputs of: 270W · 550W · 820W · 1,100W
The right size depends on factors including the room and its heat-loss characteristics. Your electricity tariff, meter setup and how you use your heating can also affect the most suitable arrangement.
That's why we carry out a heat-loss calculation before recommending which heaters are suitable.
Is high heat retention heating suitable for my property?
Our HHR storage heaters are suitable for a range of electrically heated properties, including houses, flats, residential properties, social housing, commercial premises and retirement living properties.
Frequently asked questionsDo I need solar PV? No. HHR plus heaters can be installed with or without solar PV.
Can I replace my existing storage heaters? Yes. We can assess your existing heating and property as part of the free survey.

Electric boilers and hot water solutions.
Most UK homes have a gas boiler and are connected to the mains gas network, and this currently remains the most cost efficient way to heat your home and hot water. Gas boilers are reliable as well if maintained and serviced properly.
Other gas boilers powered by LPG or oil are not as cost effective and an electric boiler for heating or an electric combi boiler to give heating and hot water can then be a viable and clean fuel alternative. There are also new alternative electric hot water solutions such as the Sunamp thermal store which with its compact design and cutting edge technology is a superbly efficient electric hot water solution.
Greener Heating
Our survey engineers can go through all the options with you, so you have a full understanding of the merits of each product. We choose not to oer air source heat pumps due to their high installation and running costs. Going electric can be a much greener option as electric boilers are almost 100% ecient. Current gas and oil boilers are closer to 90-94%, while electric units are 99.9%.so not as many CO2 emissions are created, compared to a gas boiler which contributes directly to fossil fuels and your carbon footprint. With fuel and CO2 emissions now a huge topic for us all and for government, electric boilers and renewable energy sources such as solar storage heaters are increasing in popularity in an attempt for the UK to become carbon neutral.
