How Do Solar Panels Work?
Solar panels are made up of photovoltaic, or PV, cells.
These cells convert light from the sun into electricity.
When daylight reaches the photovoltaic cells in your solar panels, it creates an electrical charge and produces Direct Current, or DC, electricity.
This electricity is then passed through an inverter, which converts it into Alternating Current, or AC, electricity — the type of electricity used throughout your home.
